10.20 am - Presentation: Why do honey bees collect fungal spores?

10.40 am - Disease checks – Taking slides and samples
11.00 am - AFB Testing
11.15 am - Hygienic testing
11.30 am - BBQ Lunch Break
12.30 pm - Commercial beekeeper’s demonstrations

2:20 pm - Supplementary feeding
2.30 pm - Varroa mite checks (drones)
3.10 pm - Closing address and future events
Beekeepers networking drinks – until 4.00pm

Terms and conditions:

  • It is recognised that practices differ from one beekeeper to the next. All beekeeping practices are sound and

    being shared in the interests of promoting best beekeeping practices.

  • This event has been supported by the South Australian Apiarist Association to encourage participation and

    education for the benefit of the South Australian Beekeeping industry, and reserves the right to remove any

    disruptive persons from the event.

  • All participants are required to wear their own Personal Protective Equipment that must be clean and not

    pose a Biosecurity hazard, and all participants attend at their own risk.

  • Cost to SAAA Members: FREE including the BBQ lunch. Non-Members $30 pp. Please RSVP your
